Red anodized aluminum sheet is an aluminum alloy material that has undergone an anodizing treatment, offering excellent corrosion resistance, wear resistance and an aesthetically pleasing appearance. Red anodized aluminium sheet is produced by placing the aluminum sheet in a corresponding electrolyte as the anode. Electrolysis is carried out under specific conditions and an applied current to form a thin layer of aluminum oxide, which is then electrolytically colored to give the aluminum sheet a red hue. Electrolytic coloring involves immersing the oxidized aluminum sheet in a metal salt solution and depositing metal particles through alternating current to produce the red hue. Anodizing is an electrochemical process that forms an aluminum oxide film on the aluminum surface, enhancing its performance and decorative effect.
Common alloys of red anodized aluminum sheet (selected by application)
– 1000 Series (1050/1060): Pure aluminum with uniform coloring, easy processing, and low strength, suitable for electronic product housings and interior decorative parts.
– 3000 Series (3003): Aluminum-manganese alloy with higher strength than 1 Series and better corrosion resistance, suitable for indoor ceilings and automotive interiors.
– 5000 Series (5052): Aluminum-magnesium alloy with medium-to-high strength and strong weather resistance, suitable for outdoor curtain walls and automotive exteriors.
– 6000 Series (6061): Aluminum-magnesium-silicon alloy, high strength (can be heat-treated and strengthened), suitable for industrial equipment housings and furniture structural parts.
Thickness of red anodized aluminum sheet:
The thickness of red anodized aluminum sheet includes the sheet thickness and the oxide film thickness, as follows:
– Sheet thickness: Common thicknesses range from 0.3mm to 3.0mm, with 0.5mm, 1.0mm, 1.5mm, 2.0mm, 2.5mm, and 3.0mm being the most common on the market.
– Oxide film thickness: Generally, the oxide film formed on the surface of the anodized aluminum sheet is between 5μm and 20μm thick and has good corrosion and wear resistance. For hard anodized films, the thickness can reach 60μm to 200μm. In addition, the gold oxide film used to form the red oxide film is generally between 2μm and 5μm thick.
Features of red anodised aluminum sheet:
– Weatherproof:
Red anodized aluminum sheets, produced using a continuous electrolytic coloring process, achieve a seamless transition between color and the oxide film, maintaining colorfastness for over 20 years in harsh outdoor environments. Wear and corrosion resistance are significantly enhanced.
– High Hardness:
The anodized aluminum sheet achieves enhanced hardness and wear resistance, reaching 250-500 kg/mm². The hard anodized film has a melting point of 2320K, excellent insulation, and a breakdown voltage of up to 2000V.
– Excellent Processability:
With its decorative appeal and moderate hardness, it can be easily bent and formed, allowing for continuous high-speed stamping, allowing for direct processing into finished products without the need for complex surface treatments, significantly shortening production cycles and reducing production costs.
– Strong Metallic Appearance:
The anodized aluminum sheet boasts a gem-grade surface hardness and excellent scratch resistance. The unpainted surface preserves the aluminum sheet’s metallic luster, highlighting a modern metallic feel and enhancing product quality and added value.
Applications of red anodized aluminum sheet:
– Architectural Decoration:
Red anodized aluminum sheet is suitable for iconic buildings such as cultural centers, exhibition halls, and commercial complexes. It can be used for curtain walls, ceilings, stair railings, and other applications, enhancing the building’s visual appeal and increasing its appeal.
– Electronic Products:
Commonly used in mobile phone cases, laptop cases, and audio equipment, its vibrant color and metallic finish meet consumers’ demands for personalized electronic product appearance while also providing excellent protection.
– Automotive and Transportation:
It can be used in automotive trim, wheels, and customized parts for motorcycles and bicycles, adding a unique style to a vehicle and making it stand out from the crowd.
– Signage and Advertising:
Due to its vibrant color and excellent weather resistance, red anodized aluminum sheet is often used in billboards and signage, ensuring it remains visible and attracts attention.
