Painted Aluminum Coil For Caravans

As an all-weather outdoor mobile vehicle, the exterior materials of caravans directly determine its overall durability, appearance lifespan, and lightweight performance. Under globally variable climates, long-distance travel, and complex usage scenarios, the strength of the base material, the weather resistance of the coating, and the processability of painted aluminum coils demand far more stringent standards than ordinary building materials. Leveraging years of export manufacturing experience and specialized process development, Haomei Aluminum has launched painted aluminum coil for caravans. From base material formulation and coating system to process control, everything is customized to meet the overall design needs of caravans, providing stable and reliable exterior material solutions for caravan manufacturers worldwide with mature technical solutions.

Caravan shell materials must find a golden balance between deformation resistance and ease of processing. We use a dual-series base material of 3003/3105 aluminum-manganese alloy (H44 temper) and 5005 aluminum-magnesium alloy, precisely matched to different caravan types. The 3000 series aluminum alloy prioritizes lightweight and formability, boasting a tensile strength of 200MPa and an elongation exceeding 20%, perfectly suited for the stamping requirements of curved roofs and irregularly shaped side panels. The 5000 series aluminum alloy emphasizes strength and corrosion resistance, suitable for towed caravans designed for long-term outdoor parking, capable of withstanding frequent long-distance travel. Thickness is strictly controlled within the 0.6-1.0mm range, the optimal range determined through hundreds of tests—thinner materials are prone to deformation, while thicker materials significantly increase vehicle weight, impacting fuel efficiency. All substrates comply with ASTM B209 and GB/T 3880 standards, and complete material certificates are provided for each batch, ensuring global customer quality traceability.

The coating is the core guarantee for the caravan’s appearance and lifespan. We employ a three-layer system of PVDF fluorocarbon coating (Kynar 500® equivalent resin): pretreatment layer + epoxy primer + fluorocarbon topcoat + clear protective varnish, with a total film thickness ≥60μm (topcoat ≥30μm), far exceeding industry standards. This structure has been validated through Florida sun exposure testing, achieving 40 years of color stability (ΔE≤1) and a chalking resistance rating ≥8, resisting UV radiation, acids, alkalis, and salt spray even in the extreme cold environments of the Middle East desert or Northern Europe. Two specially developed surface treatments, high gloss (60-80GU) and matte (10-20GU), meet the aesthetic needs of different markets while providing excellent scratch resistance to cope with mechanical damage during caravan production and use. The back coating uses epoxy-modified resin, enhancing adhesion to the insulation layer and effectively preventing blistering caused by moisture penetration.

Years of export experience have enabled us to establish industry-leading quality control processes. Starting with aluminum coil cleaning, a 12-tank chemical pretreatment process ensures surface oil residue is <5mg/m², laying the foundation for coating adhesion. The coating process utilizes imported German roller coating equipment, with speed controlled at 60m/min, film thickness error ≤±2μm, and a color difference ΔE <0.5 across the entire roll. The curing oven employs segmented temperature control technology, with a gradual temperature curve from 180℃ at the inlet to 230℃ in the middle section and 200℃ at the outlet, ensuring stable chemical bonding between the coating and the substrate, achieving adhesion grade 0 (no peeling during cross-cut testing). Each roll undergoes 360° online inspection, including film thickness, color difference, gloss, and surface defects; defective products are automatically rejected, ensuring that every delivered roll meets the highest AAMA 2605 standard.

Caravan manufacturers who choose our aluminum sheet for caravan not only obtain high-quality materials but also enjoy full-process technical support. We offer customized slitting services, with a minimum width of 200mm, reducing cutting waste for our clients. Our pre-coated protective film, specifically designed for the North American market, prevents scratches during transportation and processing, reducing secondary processing costs. Pricing is FOB Shanghai at US$3200-3500/ton (batch size ≥ 5 tons), with a 120-day quality guarantee. Third-party testing reports can be provided upon request. The packaging utilizes rust-proof paper, waterproof membrane, and steel strapping, suitable for both sea and land transportation. Each container is equipped with a humidity indicator card to ensure the product remains dry and undamaged during global transport.
